How To Reset A Laptop Windows Xp

You may or may not have a manufacturer's recovery partition imaged onto your difficult drive to do what yous desire to do if XP came preinstalled (Acer, Dell, HP, etc.)

Hullo Charlie,

You don't, at least non without the installation media.

Also, do note that even if you did the installation would exist as the system was when new, without updates or any service packs issued after the media was produced. (Updates from MS for XP concluded quite some fourth dimension agone).

What problem are you having that brings you to desire to try a "Factory Reset" of XP?

I want to manufactory reset a Windows XP reckoner, simply I don't have any installation media to exercise the repair installation. How do I reset Windows XP without a CD?

If it is an Acer yous press the left Alt + F10 Fundamental.

If it a Dell you printing Ctrl + F11.

etc.,

That is how you do it if the manufacturer never included a XP CD when y'all purchased the computer when new.

That's chosen factory resetting which is what you asked about.

And you notwithstanding can get the updates and Service Packs upward until 2014 when support ended for XP.

Hullo Bill, that's interesting.

My final experience with attempting to use the XP supplied Windows update site (link) resulted in the site is no longer agile and then being redirected.

Do you accept, is there, an updated link (or list of links) to apply to be able to update Windows XP from it'due south initial release state upward to and though to the terminal state of it being still supported? (Amazingly, but really not so amazingly, that could indeed prove to exist a popular not only listing but topic of discussion/chat besides, even still today! (XP did Rock), NT continues.
